We are a citizens´ response to the unfettered drive of private economic interests that follow a growth model which has been substituting the human with wares and numbers and mother earth and all its living beings are the passive victims.
In our effort to remember what we really are as human beings we work to preserve history as expressed through its monuments and buildings, its traditions, and customs which give cohesion to our social life and nourish the soul that identifies us and sets us apart from other cities.
San Miguel´s unique historical and aesthetic values have always been recognized and cherished and are the magnet that attracts people from around the world to this incredible space of human interaction and cultural exchange that enriches us all.
All of us who respect these values outnumber those who with their lack sensitivity and destroy them; those who do not realize that the beauty of San Miguel is its most profitable asset, that it is the reason we are here and that changing the historic for modernity will bring us ruin.
Yes, there are more of us, but up until now we lacked strength. However, collective consciousness has been gathering momentum coalescing into civil associations like ours who represent the many thousands who love and respect our city and who are joining to create a social force strong enough to combat the insensitivity, ignorance and greed so damaging to our town.
We are focused on the Historic Center, the core of San Miguel de Allende, where everything that conforms this city originates, that is the center of its social life and prosperity, from where its soul emanates and which has drawn us all to this wonderful place.
To fulfill the objectives of our association and to prevail in our quest for the respect of the integrity and authenticity of our beloved city we need the support of all of you.
